Connor Coyne in Conversation with Kelsey Ronan

Connor Coyne is a Flint, Michigan-based writer, Dungeon Master, gardener, Romania-ophile, and taker of long walks. His serial novel Urbantasm has won numerous awards and has been praised by Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha as “a magical epic.”

Connor has also authored two other wonderful novels, Hungry Rats and Shattering Glass, as well as Atlas, a collection of short stories.

His essay “Bathtime” was included in the Picador anthology Voices from the Rust Belt, and his work has been published by Vox, Belt Magazine, and elsewhere.

Connor is Director of Gothic Funk Press, and once upon a time he represented Flint’s 7th Ward as its artist-in-residence for the NEA Our Town Grant. He also earned his MFA in Creative Writing from the New School.

Today he lives with his wife, two daughters, and a geriatric adopted rabbit in Flint’s East Village less than a mile from the house where he grew up.

Kelsey Ronan grew up in Flint, Michigan. Her work has appeared in Lit Hub, Michigan Quarterly Review, The Kenyon Review and elsewhere. She lives in Detroit and teaches for InsideOut Literary Arts. Chevy in the Hole is her first novel.
