27th Letter Books Fundraiser Pocket Tee [Pre-Order]

We’re coming to you–our community–for help. Over the last few months, we’ve fallen about $10K short of our expected book sales. Retailers everywhere are dealing with the effects of the rising costs of doing business and we’re no exception. As prices rise, people spend less–and we’re feeling it in store.

If the trend continues, we’ll reach a point where we’d have to radically reconfigure our business and reconsider its viability. It’s difficult to acknowledge this reality, but we believe in the power of our collective efforts to make it out of this financial rut.

Since opening in our brick-and-mortar, we’ve hosted hundreds of events and community meetings, featured dozens of artists on our gallery walls, supported our libraries and schools, and have done all we can to elevate the necessity of sharing our stories. As a worker-owned store, we believe that bookselling is a profession worthy of a living wage. While we’ve never missed rent, there are occasions when we’ve gone without compensation for our work.

We’re launching a fundraising campaign to help secure the future and longevity of 27th Letter Books. For a $50 donation, you’ll receive a pre-order of our new, limited edition t-shirt designed by Mike Burdick and printed locally at Edgemen Printing. Donations to the fundraiser contribute to everything from stocking inventory to keeping the lights on and internet working. (If you’d like to support us, but a $50 donation is beyond your budget, we have thousands of books to choose from–including our expanding $10 books section and newly established used section.)

Your donation will help us continue our work, hopefully, for years to come.
